“Someone must have been telling lies about Joseph K., for without having done anything wrong he was arrested one fine morning.” K. is put on trial. The more he asserts his innocence and revolts against the high court, the more he gets entangled in his case. With this theatrical adaptation, Kafka’s novel achieves a new aesthetic dimension. The legal process turns into a show trial and Josef K., not aware of any guilt, starts to doubt himself and becomes a modern “Everyman”.
